Unicode String Inspector
The Unicode String Inspector is a utility that shows you the Unicode code-points underlying a line of text:
This provides the ideal platform for testing a keyboard's output, as well as identifying the codepoints contained in other text.
A few points to note:
- You can change the font by right-clicking on the edit line, and selecting "Change font".
- You can produce any character by typing the 4-hex-digit codepoint, and then pressing Alt x to convert it to the character identified. Pressing Alt x again will toggle the character back to hex digits.
- The Unicode String Inspector technically displays the UTF-16 representation of the codepoint. This means that characters above U+FFFF will be represented by a surrogate pair of 16-bit codes.
