InKey™ is a Windows™ utility to enable the user to type intuitively in any writing system.

Version 2.0 is currently in alpha release for keyboard developers only, as earlier InKey™ keyboards are being translated into the new Tinker™ format that InKey 2.0 utilizes.

Features

Context-sensitive subsitutions. (Characters that are already typed and visible can be intelligently modified by a successive keystroke.)
Support for double-tap timing distinctions makes it possible to get more characters more easily accessible. (No more need for Alt+Shift+Letter awkwardness!)
Backspace key functions intuitively as “undo keystroke” rather than simply “delete to the left.”
Can either fully integrate into the Windows™ operating system's language-switching, or be used in portable mode from a flash drive on machines without administrator permissions.
Keyboards can support user-configurable options to suit each user's preferred style. e.g. Whether to default to Western digits or script digits.
For Keyboard Developers: Keyboards written in the new Tinker™ language are far easier to follow and maintain than in KMN format, as maps make the relationship between transformed sequences of characters visually easy to follow. Developers can also harness regular expressions (“regex”) to describe complex rearrangements with a single, powerful rule.
